MODERN BALANCE IN GRAY, LIGHT OAK AND TERRACOTTA

Situated in the heart of Sofia this apartment is intended for long-term rental and designed in line with the client’s wish for a rather muted color palette, but one that goes beyond the stereotype. For that reason, the rich terracotta color stands out against the shades of gray, complemented by the soft warmth of the oak. Not only with the color palette, but the interior concept is distinguished by the use of different patterns that complement each other – the small and large fractals of the terrazzo tiles, the rough embossed strokes of the lime plaster and the V-shaped stripes of the chevron flooring. These elements, following the originally set line, stretch as if seamlessly across the other rooms. The flat welcomes with a spacious entrance and leads to the main room that accommodates the living and dining areas together with the kitchen corner. Most of the storage volumes are closed in order not to draw the eye to them, but instead to focus it with ease on the main forms – the dining table with its adjacent chairs, the sofa and the oval coffee tables in the foreground, the TV unit and the large mirror, the clean and simple kitchen cabinets. The center in the bedroom is the upholstered bed in two types of damask, positioned in front of the wall panels and the chevron flooring that continues on the wall. Everything else is hidden behind the doors of the closet. The sanitary rooms repeat the elements in the flat and add a sprinkle of freshness with the mixers in white matt finish and the glossy surface of the other sanitary products. The furniture is custom made and the lighting is a delicate accent that highlights the forms and textures throughout the flat. Being sleek and uncluttered the apartment is a fine blend of function, comfort and the not so usual look for a rental apartment.
